# Virals: Liverpool ‘taking an interest’ in AC Milan ace Rafael Leao

[Liverpool](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2022/03/21/virals-liverpool-most-advanced-in-pursuit-of-robert-lewandowski/) are reported to be ‘taking an interest’ in AC Milan forward Rafael Leao ahead of the summer transfer window.

The 22-year-old has attracted admiration from across Europe with a host of fine [performances](https://www.sofascore.com/player/rafael-leao/851284) this term.

La Liga [champions](https://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/atletico-real-madrid-la-liga-title-suarez-b1852156.html) Atletico Madrid are also believed to be attentive to the Portuguese ace but it’s the Reds who could strike.

That’s according to a report from [Calciomercato](https://www.calciomercato.com/news/le-big-d-europa-su-un-esterno-del-milan-71319), as cited by [RumorsTransfersNews24/7](https://twitter.com/rumorstransfers) on Twitter.

The report claims that Milan will have to ‘prepare to face the advances’ from clubs in the summer as Liverpool take notice of the [three-cap](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/rafael-leao/nationalmannschaft/spieler/357164/verein_id/3300) Portugal star.

So far this season Leao – once [compared](https://m.allfootballapp.com/news/Serie-A/He-is-another-Ronaldo-for-Milan---Former-Coach-praises-Rafael-Leao/1659002) to Ronaldo by Tiago Fernandes – has [scored 11 times and provided six assists](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/rafael-leao/leistungsdaten/spieler/357164) in 33 appearances across all competitions.

Valued at £45million and under contract in Italy until 2024 ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/rafael-leao/marktwertverlauf/spieler/357164)), it would take a huge sum in order to land the talented youngster.

However, with the ability to [play on either wing](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/rafael-leao/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/357164) as well as a centre-forward, Leao would be the ideal candidate to bolster the attacking options at Jurgen Klopp’s disposal as at least one attacker prepares to leave Anfield.

Possessing frightening speed and a host of [key](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/349207/Show/Rafael-Le%C3%A3o) attributes, Liverpool would certainly be boosted by adding the raw ability of the Portuguese starlet to the squad.
