# Virals: Liverpool target Federico Chiesa labelled ‘untouchable’

[Liverpool](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2021/07/28/virals-liverpool-in-advanced-position-to-land-saul-niguez/) have been dealt a major blow to any hopes of signing Italian winger [Federico Chiesa](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2021/07/14/virals-liverpool-have-knocked-on-the-door-for-federico-chiesa/) this summer.

The Reds had been [tentatively linked](https://football-italia.net/juventus-reject-liverpools-e100m-chiesa-bid/) with a sensational £86million swoop for the ace currently in the middle of a [two-year loan spell with Juventus](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/federico-chiesa/transfers/spieler/341092) from Fiorentina.

Despite being billed as [tactically](https://www.repubblica.it/sport/calcio/mercato/2021/07/24/news/juventus_liverpool_cento_milioni_chiesa-311486140/) ‘perfect’ for Jurgen Klopp’s side, any move for Chiesa looks to be near impossible to complete during this transfer window.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano rubbished talks of a rejected bid on [Twitter](https://twitter.com/FabrizioRomano/status/1420213895386566665?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1420213895386566665%7Ctwgr%5E%7Ctwcon%5Es1_&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.football365.com%2Fnews%2Fblow-liverpool-transfer-untouchable-stance-revealed-juventus-chiesa) and claimed that the 23-year-old was in fact off-limits.

Chiesa was a [star during the European Championships](https://www.sofascore.com/player/federico-chiesa/845386) as Italy lifted the trophy at Wembley – earning an [average Sofascore rating of 7.06](https://www.sofascore.com/player/federico-chiesa/845386) across seven appearances.

Last season the ace, [described](https://www.juvefc.com/can-change-the-game-like-few-others-in-europe-juventus-youngster-receives-even-more-praise/) as a player with a ‘deadly change of pace’ by the Azzurri assistant manager Alberico Evani, scored [14 goals and assisted 10 others](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/federico-chiesa/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/341092) in 43 outings.

### READ LIVERPOOL VERDICT

Valued at £63million ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/federico-chiesa/marktwertverlauf/spieler/341092)) and embroiled in a complicated position between the two Serie A clubs, signing the Italian forward always looked like a tough proposition.

Not only did the finances all but rule out any move for the [31-cap](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/federico-chiesa/nationalmannschaft/spieler/341092/verein_id/3376) star, but a permanent move to Juventus looks to be nailed on.

That said, there’s no doubt Chiesa would be a superb signing at Anfield given the quality and [unrivalled versatility](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/federico-chiesa/leistungsdaten/spieler/341092) offered.

Following the ever-reliable Romano’s update, Klopp may be [forced to turn to the likes of](https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/jarrod-bowen-liverpool-transfer-shortlist-21106532) Adama Traore, Ismaila Sarr, Raphinha or Jarrod Bowen to fill the attacking void.
