# Virals: Liverpool target Joao Felix ‘looking for a way out in January’

[Liverpool](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2021/12/07/garth-crooks-lauds-dangerous-liverpool-cult-hero-divock-origi/) may have been placed on red alert as Atletico Madrid superstar [Joao Felix](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2021/10/11/virals-liverpool-considering-sensational-loan-swoop-for-joao-felix/) reportedly looks for a way out in the January transfer window.

The 22-year-old was [indexed to the Reds](https://www.fichajes.net/noticias/joao-felix-podria-salir-enero-20211010.html) in October and it would appear that the situation hasn’t yet resolved itself.

At the time the Anfield club were linked with making a loan swoop for a man signed for an eye-watering £113million from Benfica ([BBC](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/48859847)).

Now, according to Spanish outlet [AS](https://as.com/futbol/2021/12/07/primera/1638850680_521322.html), as cited by [Football Transfers](https://twitter.com/Transferzone00) on Twitter, Felix is hoping for a mid-season exit.

The report claims that agents of the [20-cap](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/joao-felix/nationalmannschaft/spieler/462250/verein_id/3300) Portugal ace are ‘studying various alternatives’ to find a route out of Madrid.

In a bizarre twist of events, Liverpool could play a hand in eliminating Atletico from [UEFA Champions League Group B](https://www.uefa.com/uefachampionsleague/standings/)tonight (December 7).

So far this season Felix has [scored once and provided two assists](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/joao-felix/leistungsdaten/spieler/462250) in 12 appearances across all competitions for Diego Simeone’s side.

Valued at £62million and under contract at the Wanda Metropolitano until 2026 ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/joao-felix/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/462250/saison/2021/wettbewerb/CL/verein/13)), unsurprisingly the report suggests that Atletico would nigh on want to recoup their expenditure on the forward.

Described as a player with [‘enormous quality’](https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11838/11637156/joao-felix-who-is-reported-manchester-united-and-liverpool-target) by ex-teammate Jonas, Felix would be an outstanding addition to Klopp’s squad.

Primarily operating in a [similar role](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/joao-felix/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/462250) to Roberto Firmino, the Portuguese star can also play on either side of a central frontman.

Named the [Golden Boy in 2019](https://en.atleticodemadrid.com/noticias/jo-o-felix-wins-golden-boy-2019-award#:~:text=The%20Portuguese%20beat%20Jadon%20Sancho,21%20player%20in%20European%20football.) and possessing an array of [attacking talents](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/362431/Show/Jo%C3%A3o-F%C3%A9lix), this is one generational player who would be worth breaking the bank for.
