# Virals: Liverpool target Jonathan David ‘wants to leave’ Lille this summer

[Liverpool](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2022/03/01/pundit-cites-epl-title-concern-as-thiago-suffers-fresh-injury/) target [Jonathan David](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2022/02/22/virals-liverpool-interested-in-lille-striker-jonathan-david/) reportedly ‘wants to leave’ Lille during the summer transfer market.

The 22-year-old forward has previously been [heavily linked](https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/liverpool-handed-jonathan-david-opportunity-22415735) with the Reds as well as Arsenal.

Already a [star on the international stage](https://www.sofascore.com/player/jonathan-david/935564) with Canada, David would appear to be ready to take the next step in a promising career.

According to journalist [Florian Plettenberg](https://twitter.com/Plettigoal) on Twitter, the talented striker is preparing for a switch.

The [27-cap](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/jonathan-david/nationalmannschaft/spieler/533738/verein_id/3510) Canada ace has [scored 16 times in 35 appearances](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/jonathan-david/leistungsdaten/spieler/533738) this season and could be the next attacking signing at Anfield following the arrival of Luis Diaz in January.

This comes as a separate report from [CaughtOffside](https://www.caughtoffside.com/2022/03/01/jarrod-bowen-liverpool-transfer-to-cost-75m/) claims that the Reds are looking to further bolster their forward options and could pay as much as £75million for West Ham star Jarrod Bowen.

### READ LIVERPOOL VERDICT

Valued at £45million and under contract in France until 2025 ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/jonathan-david/marktwertverlauf/spieler/533738)), signing David would be an expensive venture.

Capable of playing in a variety of attacking positions and a [strong](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/383855/Show/Jonathan-David) finisher, at just 22 there is certainly plenty of benefits to pursuing the ace.

Meanwhile, Bowen is already [proven in the Premier League](https://www.premierleague.com/players/8868/Jarrod-Bowen/stats) but the mooted fee would perhaps be out of reach for Liverpool.
