# Virals: Liverpool target Pedro Goncalves praises Diogo Jota on social media

[Liverpool](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2021/11/04/jurgen-klopp-provides-multiple-injury-updates-on-nearly-perfect-night/) forward [Diogo Jota](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2021/11/03/michael-thomas-pinpoints-key-position-in-need-of-strengthening/) was once again the man on the spot to hand the Reds an early lead against Atletico Madrid on Wednesday night.

The 24-year-old Portuguese ace has so often been in the [right place at the opportune moment](https://www.goal.com/en-gb/news/jota-impact-liverpool-similar-salah-klopp-headache-aldridge/1ixdq112s4wu9z9kenig0uy58) during a superb Anfield career to date.

Signed from Wolves in 2020 for £41million ([BBC](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/54214671)), Jota now has [18 goals in 43 appearances](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/diogo-jota/leistungsdatenverein/spieler/340950) for the club.

In the aftermath of the victory, Jota stated that it was ‘Job done’ on [Instagram](https://www.instagram.com/p/CV1MPTYNu3U/) and Twitter.

Amongst the high-profile responders, Sporting CP playmaker and [reported Liverpool target](https://sportwitness.co.uk/mr-e80m-player-attracted-attention-liverpool-reds-given-price-idea/) Pedro Goncalves was the standout name.

Fresh off the back of his own brace in Sporting’s [4-0 victory](https://www.beinsports.com/en/uefa-champions-league/video/sporting-4-0-besiktas-highlights/1777072) over Besiktas, the 23-year-old simply [replied](https://www.instagram.com/p/CV1MPTYNu3U/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link) with ‘Diogoal’ – somewhat of a nickname for his compatriot.

Time for agent Diogo to go to work it would seem.

Both men are likely to be named in the [Portugal squad](https://www.skysports.com/football/teams/portugal/squad) for upcoming World Cup qualifiers and Jota may be discussing life on Merseyside.

Valued at £22.5million ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/pedro-goncalves/marktwertverlauf/spieler/426620)), Goncalves has a [reported](https://www.record.pt/futebol/futebol-nacional/liga-bwin/sporting/detalhe/eis-o-senhor-80-milhoes-pote-passa-a-ter-a-clausula-mais-alta-no-sporting) £67.5million release clause.

Equally adept in a [variety](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/pedro-goncalves/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/426620) of attacking positions, signing the Portuguese star and friend of Jota would be a worthwhile acquisition.
