# Virals: Liverpool target Youri Tielemans reportedly ‘pressing’ for transfer

[Liverpool](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2021/07/13/virals-liverpool-target-yves-bissouma-misses-opening-training-session/) continue to be linked with a sensational move for Leicester City midfielder [Youri Tielemans](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2021/07/09/virals-liverpool-target-youri-tielemans-really-wants-anfield-switch/) this summer.

The Belgian has been named among a host of other [midfield targets](https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/liverpool-transfers-saul-niguez-davies-21022813) touted as potential additions to Jurgen Klopp’s squad in this transfer window.

Speculation over where the Reds will turn has been [rife in recent weeks](https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11669/12354170/liverpool-transfer-news-summer-transfer-window-2021) with the likes of Florian Neuhaus, Yves Bissouma, Florian Neuhaus and Saul Niguez all linked with an Anfield switch.

However, a fresh report from Belgian outlet [Voetbal24](https://www.voetbal24.be/news/71333/tielemans-is-akkoord-en-maakt-zo-goed-als-zeker-supertransfer-van-75-miljoen), as cited by [The Anfield Buzz](https://twitter.com/TheAnfieldBuzz/status/1414914125197680640) on Twitter has claimed that the 24-year-old is looking to make the move happen.

The report claims Leicester would be willing to sanction the departure of the [43-cap](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/youri-tielemans/nationalmannschaft/spieler/249565/verein_id/3382) star were an offer of at least £64million be forthcoming.

Tielemans enjoyed another superb domestic campaign for the Foxes, scoring [six and assisting another four goals](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/youri-tielemans/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/249565) whilst appearing in all 38 Premier League matches.

[Described](https://www.goal.com/en-gb/news/tielemans-suit-liverpool-heskey-leicester-not-cheap/vur6o7ro17xf13qb7pxxn78ao) as a ‘fantastic’ player by former Liverpool favourite Emile Heskey, the midfielder was also the [goalscoring hero in the 2020/21 FA Cup final](https://www.standard.co.uk/sport/football/youri-tielemans-goal-fa-cup-final-leicester-text-message-revealed-b935382.html) win over Chelsea.

All things considered, signing Tielemans would perhaps be the most impressive of all [mooted](https://www.fourfourtwo.com/features/5-midfielders-liverpool-could-sign-to-replace-gini-wijnaldum) Gini Wijnaldum replacements.

Possessing the durability to match the Dutchman, the ex-Monaco man would also offer more in the way of an attacking threat based on [goal contributions](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/vergleich/spielervergleich/statistik/def/spieler/249565&49499) in recent seasons.

Albeit an expensive outlay, paying over the expected odds for a [£49.5million valued](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/youri-tielemans/marktwertverlauf/spieler/249565) player with many years at the elite level to come, may just prove to be an impressive piece of business.
