# Virals: Liverpool ‘very interested’ in Real Madrid star Federico Valverde

[Liverpool](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2021/12/27/virals-liverpool-still-interested-in-attacking-premier-league-duo/) are reportedly ‘very interested’ in versatile Real Madrid star [Federico Valverde](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2021/11/08/liverpool-interested-in-real-madrid-midfielder-federico-valverde/).

The 23-year-old has been [linked](https://www.bernabeudigital.com/exclusivas/info-bd-el-liverpool-quiso-pagar-100-millones-por-valverde-270987) with a move to Anfield previously and was impressive when called upon to fill in at right-back against Jurgen Klopp’s side in the UEFA Champions League last season.

Now according to a report from Catalan outlet [El Nacional](https://www.elnacional.cat/ca/esports/el-liverpool-de-klopp-va-de-cara-amb-florenti-perez-i-oferira-90-milions-per-treure-l-del-rea_686885_102.html), Liverpool could be about to offer a huge €90million (£76million) to land the Uruguayan international.

The report claims that the [35-cap](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/federico-valverde/nationalmannschaft/spieler/369081/verein_id/3449) ace feels ‘despised and undervalued’ at the Bernabeu and is ‘considering moving’ amidst interest from the Reds.

So far this season Valverde – described as [‘phenomenal’](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-8024865/Casemiro-heaps-praise-Real-Madrid-team-mate-Federico-Valverde.html) by teammate Casemiro – has earned a [6.90 average Sofascore rating](https://www.sofascore.com/player/federico-valverde/831808) from 15 La Liga outings.

Valued at £58.8million and under contract in Madrid until 2027 ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/federico-valverde/marktwertverlauf/spieler/369081)), paying the mooted £76million would represent impressive value for money.

Despite [struggling to nail down a spot](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/federico-valverde/leistungsdaten/spieler/369081) in Carlo Ancelotti’s side ahead of Luka Modric, Casemiro and Toni Kroos, Valverde has already proven to be a high-quality operator.

Liverpool currently boast plenty of [midfield options](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/fc-liverpool/kader/verein/31) in the shape of James Milner, Curtis Jones, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Naby Keita as well as arguable first-choice trio Jordan Henderson, Thiago and Fabinho.

However, the club may look to source a long-term replacement for Milner next summer as the 35-year-old enters the [final years](https://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/first-team/429841-james-milner-interview-mr-professional-career-19-years) of a superb career.

Possessing an [abundance of key attributes](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/344644/Show/Federico-Valverde) as well as endearing versatility, the Uruguayan would be a huge addition to Klopp’s squad.
