# Virals: Liverpool ‘willing’ to make Mohamed Salah club’s highest earner

[Liverpool](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2021/10/28/virals-liverpool-enter-the-race-to-sign-kalvin-phillips/) are reportedly willing to make [Mohamed Salah](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2021/10/26/watford-goalkeeper-ben-foster-explains-post-game-chat-with-mohamed-salah/) the highest earner at the club.

The Egyptian is in the middle of a [reported contract saga](https://www.espn.com/soccer/blog-marcottis-musings/story/4507070/liverpool-should-extend-mohamed-salahs-contract-though-not-at-all-costs) at Anfield as the club, player and agent attempt to seal a new deal beyond the current 2023 expiry.

Salah has made a majestic start to the new season with magical moments aplenty and an [unmatched Premier League goal tally](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/premier-league/top-scorers).

According to a report from [TEAMtalk](https://www.teamtalk.com/liverpool/mohamed-salah-exclusive-contract-plan-signing-on-fee), as cited by [The Anfield Buzz](https://twitter.com/TheAnfieldBuzz) on Twitter, Liverpool are prepared to offer the 29-year-old top earner status.

The report claims the club plans to use a signing-on fee to entice the [71-cap star](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/mohamed-salah/nationalmannschaft/spieler/148455/verein_id/3672) – something usually only associated with a new transfer – whilst suggestions of a £500,000 per week salary demand are inaccurate.

So far this season the Egyptian winger has scored [15 goals and provided five assists](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/mohamed-salah/leistungsdaten/spieler/148455) in just 12 appearances across all competitions.

### READ LIVERPOOL VERDICT

This would make perfect sense for all parties.

Everyone has seen Salah’s [desire to remain at Anfield](https://www.theguardian.com/football/2021/oct/22/mohamed-salah-keen-to-stay-but-says-liverpool-future-is-not-in-my-hands) for the remainder of his career, albeit perhaps with suitable remuneration.

Offering the [‘Egyptian King’](https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/blogs-trending-43863092) a lump sum now reduces the risk moving forwards and in turn allows the club to save money in the long run.

Having been [typically frugal](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/fc-liverpool/transfers/verein/31) in the summer transfer window, the awarding of a new deal to Salah should be a no-brainer from every viewpoint.
