# Virals: Marcus Thuram an ‘attractive proposition’ for Liverpool

[Liverpool](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2022/01/18/virals-liverpool-preparing-offer-for-leicester-city-star-youri-tielemans/) could reportedly view Borussia Monchengladbach forward Marcus Thuram as an ‘attractive proposition’ this summer.

This comes from an in-depth article from [The Athletic](https://theathletic.com/3070168/2022/01/17/sensible-transfers-liverpool-analysing-lang-bowen-and-thuram-in-the-search-for-more-firepower/), as cited by [James Pearce](https://twitter.com/JamesPearceLFC/status/1483349444548509696) on Twitter, highlighting the potential future targets at Anfield.

Whilst dismissing the possiblity of urgent incomings this month, the report looks at the likelihood of summer swoops for Thuram as well as [West Ham](https://readwestham.com/2022/01/18/virals-west-ham-could-move-early-for-fulham-starlet-fabio-carvalho/) ace Jarrod Bowen and 22-year-old Club Brugge starlet Noa Lang.

At 24-years-old and already a [four cap](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/marcus-thuram/nationalmannschaft/spieler/318528/verein_id/3377) France international, Thuram is described in the report as the ‘most versatile’ option.

Signed for [£8.1million](https://www.soccerantenna.com/bundesliga/borussia-monchengladbach-sign-marcus-thuram) from Ligue 1 club Guingamp in 2019, the Italy-born star has amassed [46 direct goal contributions](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/marcus-thuram/leistungsdatenverein/spieler/318528) in 92 appearances for Monchengladbach.

This season Thuram – hailed as [‘very dangerous’](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YF7FcwhQAjk) by Marco Rose – has earned a [6.64 Sofascore rating](https://www.sofascore.com/player/marcus-thuram/791702) from 12 Bundesliga outings.

Having [suffered badly with injury](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/marcus-thuram/verletzungen/spieler/318528) so far in this campaign, the Reds would need solid assurances that fitness issues would be no problem moving forwards.

On form, there is no doubting that Thuram possesses the [attributes](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/296322/Show/Marcus-Thuram) and crucially, the versatility, to thrive in a Jurgen Klopp side.

Valued at £25.2million and in the final 18 months of a deal in Germany ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/marcus-thuram/marktwertverlauf/spieler/318528)), from a financial perspective this is a target that will be of huge interest to the club’s hierarchy.
