# Virals: Negotiations for Liverpool target Karim Adeyemi ‘falter’

[Liverpool](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2022/03/07/virals-journalist-claims-agreement-could-be-reached-for-divock-origi/) were previously heavily linked with highly-rated Red Bull Salzburg forward [Karim Adeyemi](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2021/11/14/virals-liverpool-move-appealing-to-red-bull-salzburg-star-karim-adeyemi/).

The 20-year-old starlet has been [sensational](https://www.sofascore.com/player/karim-adeyemi/940054) in Austria and had appeared to be on the verge of sealing a summer switch to Borussia Dortmund.

However, according to a report from German outlet [Ruhr Nachrichten](https://www.ruhrnachrichten.de/bvb/bvb-bei-haaland-zur-tatenlosigkeit-verdammt-adeyemi-gespraeche-stocken-w1731743-p-2000468776/), as cited elsewhere by [Football Transfers](https://twitter.com/Transferzone00) on Twitter, the talks to take Adeyemi to Germany are stuttering.

The report claims that negotiations to sign the [three-cap](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/karim-adeyemi/nationalmannschaft/spieler/496094/verein_id/3262) ace to the Bundesliga club are ‘faltering’ amidst conflicting valuations.

So far this season Adeyemi – hailed as a [‘fabulous player’](https://metro.co.uk/2022/02/16/glenn-hoddle-hails-karim-adeyemi-after-chelsea-targets-thrilling-performance-against-bayern-munichg-16119215/) by Glenn Hoddle – has [scored 19 times and provided four assists](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/karim-adeyemi/leistungsdaten/spieler/496094) in 33 appearances across all competitions.

### READ LIVERPOOL VERDICT

Valued at £31.5million and under contract in Austria until 2024 ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/karim-adeyemi/marktwertverlauf/spieler/496094)), Salzburg are believed to be holding out for €45million (£37.2million) for the pacey frontman.

Predominantly a centre-forward, Adeyemi is also [capable of playing on either wing](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/karim-adeyemi/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/496094) and is certainly a star in the making.

Albeit it remains to be seen whether Jurgen Klopp is [still keen on the German](https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/karim-adeyemi-liverpool-major-transfer-22223527) youngster, this apparent halt in transfer proceedings does give the Reds an opportunity to become involved once more.

For those Kopites intrigued by Adeyemi and what he could potentially bring to Anfield, [Salzburg are in action against Bayern Munich](https://www.goal.com/en/team/salzburg/fixtures-results/bonj6qc7po4anunhydmjmi6g5) in the UEFA Champions League this week.
