# Virals: Neil Jones ‘expecting’ Harry Wilson to leave Liverpool next

[Liverpool](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2021/07/20/virals-report-names-mohamed-salah-as-biggest-priority-at-liverpool/) may have finally have started to offload some of the squad players this summer as [Jurgen Klopp](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2021/07/20/virals-neil-jones-confirms-double-liverpool-departure/) prepares to begin pre-season fixtures.

The Reds completed the [permanent sales of Marko Grujic and Taiwo Awoniyi](https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/liverpool-marko-grujic-taiwo-awoniyi-21094543) on the same day Klopp’s men play two back to back 30-minute clashes with FC Wacker Innsbruck and VfB Stuttgart. .

One man who could be available to take part in the friendlies having [joined up with the squad](https://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/first-team/438175-neco-williams-and-harry-wilson-to-join-reds-training-camp) earlier this week is Welsh winger Harry Wilson.

However, according to Goal correspondent [Neil Jones](https://twitter.com/neiljonesgoal/status/1417420609475301395) on Twitter, the 24-year old’s stay in Austria could be short-lived.

Liverpool are believed to be [holding out](https://theathletic.com/news/liverpool-harry-wilson-transfer-benfica/MVg0dMp3JTic) for £13million for the [29 times capped](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/harry-wilson/nationalmannschaft/spieler/279455/verein_id/3864) Wilson.

The winger has been somewhat of an eternal loanee and spent last season with Cardiff City in the Championship, [scoring seven and assisting another 12 goals](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/harry-wilson/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/279455) in 37 league outings.

### READ LIVERPOOL VERDICT

Valued at £15.3million and under contract until 2023 at Anfield ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/harry-wilson/marktwertverlauf/spieler/279455)), the Reds may be wise to implement some leeway in their demands.

As incoming transfers seem wholly [dependant](https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/liverpool-can-raise-80m-selling-20697081) on outgoings, player sales of this ilk are a major plus to the club, especially if the maximum value can be achieved.

Albeit clearly talented, ultimately Wilson has seemed [unlikely to make the grade](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/harry-wilson/leistungsdatenverein/spieler/279455) at Liverpool for some time and a permanent move would be the best for all concerned parties.
