# Virals: Potential early Liverpool team news hits social media

[Liverpool](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2021/09/17/virals-steven-gerrard-shares-pre-match-moment-with-xherdan-shaqiri/) manager Jurgen Klopp could be about to unleash a new-look side on Crystal Palace this weekend.

The Reds’ boss rotated in midweek as Joe Gomez, [Divock Origi](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2021/09/13/virals-divock-origi-spotted-as-liverpool-fans-mock-transfer-strategy/) and Naby Keita were all handed somewhat surprise starts against AC Milan.

The inclusion of the trio raised numerous eyebrows and meant Virgil van Dijk, Sadio Mane and Thiago were [left to watch on](https://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/first-team/443412-watch-highlights-liverpool-ac-milan-champions-league) from the sidelines.

Ahead of the visit of Palace to Anfield on Saturday afternoon, journalist [James Pearce](https://theathletic.com/author/james-pearce/) has claimed summer signing Ibrahima Konate could be in line for a full debut, as cited by [LFC Transfer Room](https://twitter.com/LFCTransferRoom/status/1438388061210095616) on Twitter.

Elsewhere, Zubin Daver also took to [Twitter](https://twitter.com/zubinofficial/status/1438719345236930560) this week to cite rumours suggesting forward Takumi Minamino may also be a surprise starter this weekend.

Last season the Reds completed the double over the Eagles, winning [2-0](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/57132111) in an important final day on Merseyside following a resounding [7-0 victory](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/55268080) at Selhurst Park earlier in the season – Minamino opening the scoring that day.

Such sweeping changes may come as a shock, especially given the fact Liverpool are in [Carabao Cup action](https://www.liverpoolfc.com/match/2021-22/men/fixtures-and-results) against Norwich City on Tuesday night.

Perhaps wholesale alterations will and can wait until then, allowing Klopp to name a perceived [full-strength side](https://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/first-team) for the Premier League clash.

Under new manager Patrick Viera, Palace are a whole new threat and proved their danger with a [3-0 thrashing](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/58436965) of Tottenham last week.

Should the speculation ring true, however, Konate would likely be partnered by Van Dijk for his [Premier League bow](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/ibrahima-konate/leistungsdaten/spieler/357119), whilst Minamino would be expected to be flanked by Mane and Mohamed Salah.
