# Virals: PSG in ‘official talks’ with Mohamed Salah’s representatives

[Liverpool](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2021/05/17/keith-gillespie-backs-harvey-elliott-to-star-for-liverpool-next-season/) could be set for a summer of disruption surrounding their most prized asset, [Mohamed Salah](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2021/05/17/garth-crooks-lauds-mohamed-salah-after-dramatic-liverpool-victory/).

The Egyptian forward has long since been touted with an eventual move to another of Europe’s elite clubs, with La Liga giants Real Madrid and Barcelona [believed to be](https://theathletic.com/news/liverpool-transfer-mohamed-salah-la-liga/DgGWwEQm4Srs) the most likely destination.

However, recent weeks have seen [numerous reports](https://www.espn.co.uk/football/paris-saint-germain--frapsg/story/4383254/psg-target-mohamed-salah-manchester-united-in-pole-position-for-jadon-sancho) surface suggesting French Ligue 1 side Paris Saint-Germain could also be in contention.

The latest report comes from French outlet [L’Equipe](https://www.lequipe.fr/) – as cited by [The Anfield Buzz](https://twitter.com/TheAnfieldBuzz/status/1394236595621015553) on Twitter – and claims the Parisian club have already been in touch with the 28 year old’s representatives over a possible move.

PSG are believed to be sweating over the future of [regularly reported](https://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/1436428/Liverpool-transfer-news-Kylian-Mbappe-Reds-Real-Madrid-battle) Liverpool target Kylian Mbappe, who will be [out of contract](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/kylian-mbappe/profil/spieler/342229) in the French capital in 2022.

Despite the possibilities of replacing Salah with [World Cup-winning superstar](https://www.fifa.com/worldcup/news/kylian-mbappe-all-by-the-age-of-20) Mbappe, the Egyptian king has been proving his worth to Jurgen Klopp’s side all over again this season.

The left-footed winger, recently [hailed](https://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/first-team/434187-jurgen-klopp-mohamed-salah-30-goals#) as ‘exceptional’ by Klopp, has [31 goals](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/mohamed-salah/leistungsdaten/spieler/148455) in all competitions this season – including 22 in the Premier League – making him the[joint top scorer](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/premier-league/top-scorers) alongside Harry Kane.

Were it not for Salah this season Liverpool would be miles off their [current top four pace](https://www.premierleague.com/tables), such is his importance to the side.

Whilst others around him have [struggled](https://www.goal.com/en-gb/news/mane-admits-to-worst-season-of-my-career-and-cant-explain/88achn8f48cm1iquwtv1yzj9q) to reach their previous heights, the 69-cap Egypt man has continued to perform at an elite level.

Frankly, offers comfortably in excess of his [£99million market value](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/mohamed-salah/marktwertverlauf/spieler/148455#:~:text=%22Right%20Winger%22.-,With%20a%20market%20value%20of%20%C2%A399.00m%2C%20Mohamed%20Salah,players%20of%20the%20Premier%20League.) would be required to even entertain a sale of this magnitude.

Most Kopites would admit [changes are required](https://www.goal.com/en-gb/news/klopp-rules-out-major-changes-at-liverpool-despite-miserable/1fq89g0becewm1qi46mjd2b1g0) and perhaps afoot this summer among the Anfield squad, however, selling the star player isn’t one many would get behind – even if it meant an outstanding incoming.
