# Virals: Report outlines potential Liverpool squad overhaul

[Liverpool](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2021/05/11/virals-liverpool-target-houssem-aouar-reportedly-available-for-26m/) manager [Jurgen Klopp](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2021/05/07/jurgen-klopp-hails-outstanding-award-winning-mohamed-salah/) could feasibly oversee the departure of a vast majority of the Anfield squad this summer, with a [host of fringe players](https://theathletic.co.uk/1696927/2020/03/24/what-does-the-future-hold-for-liverpools-youngsters-tue-24-mar-3pm-uk/) in danger of being sold.

With every outgoing there must follow an incoming as the [strength in depth](https://www.liverpoolfc.com/team/first-team) within the Reds has already been brought into question.

Since the [2010 takeover](https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11669/12104163/liverpools-takeover-by-fsg-inside-the-deal-10-years-on) by Fenway Sports Group, Liverpool’s modus operandi has been a sell to buy model in the transfer market.

As the end of a [wretched 2020/21 campaign](https://www.liverpoolfc.com/match/2020-21/first-team/fixtures-and-results) comes into view, attentions have already turned to what could be the busiest summer during Klopp’s reign.

A report from [The Athletic](https://theathletic.com/2578200/2021/05/11/your-club-wants-a-clear-out-but-can-anyone-really-afford-the-deadwood/), as cited by [LFC Transfer Room](https://twitter.com/LFCTransferRoom/status/1391977280650555394) on Twitter, has outlined the potential departures based on last summer when financial uncertainty put pay to many plans.

The aforementioned players, not including the [already sold](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/53556646) Dejan Lovren, could all be made available once again as Liverpool look to raise funds for their own transfer dealings.

### READ LIVERPOOL VERDICT

Marko Grujic, Loris Karius and Harry Wilson have all spent [mixed spells away on loan](https://www.planetfootball.com/quick-reads/the-12-liverpool-players-out-on-loan-in-2020-21-and-how-theyve-been-faring/) this season – leading to the belief the Reds could indeed look for permanent deals this time around.

Questions also remain over Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Takumi Minamino, the latter also being [sent out on loan](https://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/first-team/424573-takumi-minamino-joins-southampton-on-loan#:~:text=Liverpool%20forward%20Takumi%20Minamino%20has,club%20on%20transfer%20deadline%20day.) for the second half of this campaign.

The more interesting cases are Xherdan Shaqiri and Divock Origi, having made a combined [24 Premier League appearances](https://www.premierleague.com/stats/player-comparison) this season.

Realistically, Klopp should look to cash in on both fringe players and holding a [market value of £27million](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/vergleich/spielervergleich/statistik/def/spieler/86792&148368) between them, Liverpool’s coffers will be better off for the double departure.
