# Virals: Serie A club ‘contemplating’ move for Liverpool ace Naby Keita

Serie A giants Juventus are reportedly considering a move for [Liverpool](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2022/02/14/virals-liverpool-handed-transfer-boost-regarding-target-joao-felix/) midfielder [Naby Keita](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2022/02/11/virals-liverpool-target-franck-kessie-dragging-his-feet-over-future/).

The 27-year-old is believed to be viewed as an alternative to AC Milan star Franck Kessie – also [heavily linked](https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/liverpools-very-interesting-offer-franck-22608941) with the Reds.

Keita has flattered to deceive during a [four-year spell](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/41075272) on Merseyside and is currently out of contract in 2023 ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/naby-keita/profil/spieler/302215)).

According to a report from [Calciomercato.it](https://www.calciomercato.it/2022/02/13/calciomercato-milan-juventus-kessie-liverpool-keita-barcellona-psg/), as cited by [Anfield Edition](https://twitter.com/AnfieldEdition/status/1492950759989817353) on Twitter, Juventus could turn to the Guinea international should Kessie arrive at Anfield.

The report claims that Liverpool are ‘ready to participate’ for Kessie and *i* *bianconeri* are would be keen on signing the [43-cap](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/naby-keita/nationalmannschaft/spieler/302215/verein_id/3856) Guinea ace as a consequence.

So far this season Keita has [scored three times and provided one assist](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/naby-keita/leistungsdaten/spieler/302215) in 18 appearances – including an [impressive outing](https://www.sofascore.com/player/naby-keita/365772) against Burnley.

### READ LIVERPOOL VERDICT

Whilst this audacious swap deal makes sense from a financial perspective as Kessie is [set to become a free agent](https://www.marca.com/en/football/tottenham/2022/01/20/61e98b4dca474115678b4595.html#:~:text=Franck%20Kessie's%20contract%20with%20AC,away%20from%20Italy%20for%20nothing.), it does seem rather farfetched.

Albeit the Ivory Coast midfielder would be a shrewd acquisition in the summer – particular due to his [capabilities as a six](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/277269/Show/Franck-Kessi%C3%A9) – cutting ties with Keita still seems unlikely.

It’s much more plausible that Liverpool add Kessie to the ranks whilst also offering the [£27million valued](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/naby-keita/marktwertverlauf/spieler/302215) man in situ a new deal.
