# Virals: Trent Alexander-Arnold aims to ‘silence the doubters’

[Liverpool](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2021/06/01/liverpool-bid-for-raphinha/) right-back [Trent Alexander-Arnold](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2021/06/01/alexander-arnold-henderson-euros/) was eventually included in the England squad for the upcoming Euro 2020 competition.

Remarkably the inclusion of the 22-year-old, or otherwise, had become one of the [main talking points](https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/trent-liverpool-manchester-united-defender-20605753) during the build-up to Gareth Southgate’s squad being announced.

That’s despite playing an integral part in a Reds side that has [won](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/trent-alexander-arnold/erfolge/spieler/314353) the UEFA Champions League and Premier League in the last two years.

Having been [left out](https://www.goal.com/en-gb/news/england-squad-alexander-arnold-dropped-as-lingard-stones-and/1ui4xoxnkcioc10rbvd34pzn0l) of a national team squad in March, with Southgate citing a dip in the full-back’s form, widespread [reports](https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/alexander-arnold-southgate-england-squad-24222718) had suggested Alexander-Arnold would miss out altogether this time around.

But, perhaps sensibly the Scouse sensation was included and he immediately responded to the call-up on [Twitter](https://twitter.com/TrentAA/status/1399769057755340812?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1399769057755340812%7Ctwgr%5E%7Ctwcon%5Es1_&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.empireofthekop.com%2F2021%2F06%2F01%2Ftrent-aa-hits-social-media-with-banger-after-england-squad-announcement-silence-the-doubters%2F) with a pointed message.

> Twitter: Always believe in yourself. Silence the doubters. ![🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿](https://s.w.org/images/core/emoji/13.0.1/svg/1f3f4-e0067-e0062-e0065-e006e-e0067-e007f.svg) https://t.co/vf5Nah3ji7 (@TrentAA)

Alexander-Arnold finished the 2020/21 campaign in impressive style, earning two [Sofascore ratings over 8.0](https://www.sofascore.com/player/trent-alexander-arnold/795064) in the final four matches.

Although the West Derby born ace didn’t quite reach the astonishing [record-breaking heights](https://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/first-team/403093-trent-alexander-arnold-breaks-his-own-premier-league-assist-record#:~:text=Trent%20Alexander%2DArnold%20breaks%20his%20own%20Premier%20League%20assist%20record,-Chris%20Shaw%20%40__&text=Trent%20Alexander%2DArnold%20has%20broken,The%20No.) of previous seasons, the right-back still provided [nine assists and two goals](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/trent-alexander-arnold/leistungsdaten/spieler/314353) in 45 appearances.

Capped [12 times](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/trent-alexander-arnold/nationalmannschaft/spieler/314353/verein_id/3299) by England, there’s little doubting leaving Alexander-Arnold out of the squad would’ve been a crushing blow for the player himself.

From a purely selfish perspective Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp would’ve [likely been delighted](https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11669/12245445/virgil-van-dijk-joe-gomez-jurgen-klopp-does-not-expect-liverpool-duo-to-play-at-euro-2020) to see his star left behind.

Now, Klopp and everyone associated with the Reds will watch on with interest and the hope the [£67.5million valued](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/trent-alexander-arnold/marktwertverlauf/spieler/314353) man and others return with a clean bill of health.
