# Virals: Trent Alexander-Arnold compilation proves class once again

[Liverpool](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2021/05/27/virals-liverpool-target-raphinha-reveals-friendship-with-roberto-firmino/) star [Trent Alexander-Arnold](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2021/05/24/andy-townsend-lauds-brilliant-trent-alexander-arnold-display/) has enjoyed a mixed 2020/21 campaign full of highs and lows.

Perhaps a victim of his own success, the right-back has been under intense scrutiny following two years very much in the limelight as an [assist making](https://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/first-team/403093-trent-alexander-arnold-breaks-his-own-premier-league-assist-record#:~:text=Trent%20Alexander%2DArnold%20breaks%20his%20own%20Premier%20League%20assist%20record,-Chris%20Shaw%20%40__&text=Trent%20Alexander%2DArnold%20has%20broken,The%20No.) phenomenon.

Having begun the season with a [positive coronavirus test](https://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/covid-19-and-injuries-behind-trent-alexander-arnolds-poor-form-says-juergen-klopp-n56kn55mv), the highly regarded 22-year-old was somewhat out of sorts in the opening weeks.

Soon after followed calf issues that kept the Scouser out of action for [four matches](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/trent-alexander-arnold/verletzungen/spieler/314353) – underlining a fragmented start to what should have been a glorious year as a reigning champion.

The most eye-opening moment regarding Alexander-Arnold’s form, or perceived lack thereof, came in March when England manager Gareth Southgate [left the ace out](https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/trent-alexander-arnold-england-squad-20250945) for the FIFA 2022 World Cup qualifiers.

However, an upturn in form since has seen the Reds starlet named in the provisional squad for the upcoming Euro 2020 tournament.

Now a compilation montage from [FC Comps](https://twitter.com/CF_Comps9/status/1397525805580881920?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1397525805580881920%7Ctwgr%5E%7Ctwcon%5Es1_&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.empireofthekop.com%2F2021%2F05%2F27%2Fvideo-trents-ludicrous-best-bits-from-2020-21-prove-hes-still-the-worlds-best-and-by-some-distance%2F) on Twitter has highlighted just how he has performed across the 2020/21 term.

Alexander-Arnold enjoyed a superb upturn in form at just the opportune moment as Jurgen Klopp’s side went on a [10-game unbeaten run](https://www.skysports.com/liverpool-results) to finish third.

During the run-in, the [12-cap](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/trent-alexander-arnold/nationalmannschaft/spieler/314353/verein_id/3299) England man produced two displays ranking over [8.0 with Sofascore](https://www.sofascore.com/player/trent-alexander-arnold/795064) – finishing with [two goals and seven assists](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/trent-alexander-arnold/leistungsdaten/spieler/314353) from 36 Premier League outings.

### READ LIVERPOOL VERDICT

Some of the questions posed regarding the [£90million valued](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/trent-alexander-arnold/marktwertverlauf/spieler/314353) star’s abilities have been frankly outrageous.

Already a [serial winner](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/trent-alexander-arnold/erfolge/spieler/314353) of top honours, Alexander-Arnold has proven his class on multiple occasions at the very top level.

Whether or not the marauding full-back is picked for England remains to be seen – but his omission would leave a [ginormous creative void](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/318871/Show/Trent-Alexander-Arnold) in the squad – as proven in the compilation video.
