# Walcott to miss the Derby, Gomes a doubt too

Everton have been hit with another double injury blow ahead of their first game back after the Premier League restart against Liverpool with the news that Theo Walcott will definitely miss the game, whilst Andre Gomes is a doubt too.

As reported by Paul Joyce of The Times, Walcott has undergone surgery to repair an abdominal issue, meaning he will miss at least four weeks of action, whilst Gomes won’t start training until next week, meaning he faces a race against the clock to be fit enough to take part in the game on Sunday 21st June.

The news of Walcott’s absence is another injury blow for the Blues, who are already going to be without both Yerry Mina and Jean-Philippe Gbamin injured.

Gomes, meanwhile, has what is described as a ‘minor issue’ but the fact that he will only start training less than a week before the first game means that his inclusion, at least from the start of the game, is now in doubt.

The match, which will be played at Goodison Park, could see Liverpool crowned as Premier League champions if Arsenal can defeat Manchester City when those two sides meet on June 17th.
