# Werner ‘is going to move’ this summer, claims Bundesliga expert

Timo Werner ‘is going to move’ this summer, according to Bundesliga expert Andy Brassell.

Rumours [linking](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2020/03/04/werner-really-wants-liverpool-move/) the striker with a move to Liverpool are not going away, as the German reportedly weighs up his options.

Speaking to *[talkSPORT](https://talksport.com/football/681828/liverpool-chelsea-rb-leipzig-timo-werner-bundesliga-transfer/)*, Brassell revealed that he believes Werner will leave RB Leipzig at the end of the season, with the Reds and Chelsea both seen as options:

> Werner, I think, is going to move. Because of his low-ish buy-out clause, certainly for the quality he has got, of about €60m, you’d think there is a massive queue for him.

> But he’s very ambitious and for that reason there is a very small window of clubs that have a chance of getting him.

> It seems he would like to try his luck abroad and he speaks excellent English already.

> Of course, he’s made such a push for Liverpool in the media opportunities he’s had over recent weeks, but I wonder if Chelsea could be in the mix as well. You could see him walking into that team a lot easier.

In terms of the effect he could have on Liverpool’s squad, I see Werner as the a very useful transfer target this summer.

His quality in the final third is undeniable, with an incredible[88 goals in just 150 appearances](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Timo_Werner#Career_statistics) for Leipzig.

The Reds have a world-class front-three of Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino currently, but the drop-off in quality after that is enormous.

That showed in Wednesday’s Champions League defeat to Atletico Madrid, with Divock Origi failing to make an impact from the substitutes’ bench.

The Belgian has scored some huge goals in the last year, of course, but for me, his all-round quality isn’t good enough to be the go-to backup forward in such a great team.

Werner could come in and provide instant competition for Salah, Mane and Firmino, whilst also possessing the ability to play in a [4-2-3-1](https://totalfootballanalysis.com/match-analysis/liverpool-arsenal-premier-league-jurgen-klopp-tactical-analysis-statistics) system alongside all three.

Whether that be starting on either flank or leading the line, the German international could thrive, and his tenacious, ruthless style looks ideal for this Liverpool side.
