# Werner remains coy over summer plans amid Liverpool links

Timo Werner has hinted that a move to a top European club would appeal to him this summer.

The German has enjoyed another impressive season for RB Leipzig, [scoring 20 goals and registering six assists](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/130903/Show/Timo-Werner) in the Bundesliga in 2019/20 to date.

Liverpool continue to be [linked](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2020/01/21/reliable-journalist-tips-werner-to-make-liverpool-move/) with a move for Werner, who is valued at £67.5 million by *[Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/timo-werner/profil/spieler/170527)* and could leave Leipzig at the end of the season.

Speaking to *[Kicker](https://www.kicker.de/768677/artikel)* over the weekend, the 23-year was coy about his future, suggesting a move to a bigger club is far from out of the question:

> What do you say if a club comes knocking in the next two weeks, a club which is one of the favourites to win the Champions League and makes an incredible offer? Most likely every player would think about it.

> I can generally imagine playing abroad one day, although I don’t have any specific club where I want to be.

> I am open for everything. I was over in America for a holiday recently and English football was on all of the time.

> That’s an exclamation mark for the Premier League. But there are also big, famous clubs and it would certainly be fun playing there.

### Read Liverpool Verdict

Werner is a player I would love to see in a Liverpool shirt next season, such is his all-round suitability to this Red side.

The Germany international’s end product is an obvious standout attribute – he has scored [86 goals in 142 appearances](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Timo_Werner#International_career) for Leipzig – but there is so much more to admire, too.

Off the ball, Werner is tenacious, while his versatility allows him to drift out wide and thrive, as well as in a central role.

This flexibility is something Jurgen Klopp loves in his attackers, with Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino so often interchanging with one another and not sticking rigidly to their positions.

Should Liverpool sign Werner, I believe it would make the Reds’ attack even more formidable, with Klopp potentially even switching to a 4-2-3-1 formation, in order to accommodate him and the Reds’ three current superstars.
