# Wolves star Jota to miss Liverpool clash

Wolves winger Diogo Jota will miss Friday night’s fixture against Liverpool as he nurses a hamstring injury.

The forward has been in good form for his side in recent weeks and was highly likely to be in line for a start against Jurgen Klopp’s men in the Premier League clash at Molineux.

However, as reported by the [Express and Star](https://www.expressandstar.com/sport/football/wolverhampton-wanderers-fc/2018/12/20/wolves-diogo-jota-ruled-out-of-liverpool-clash/), the hosts will be without Jota after he sustained an injury in Wolves’ recent 2-0 win against Bournemouth.

The 22-year-old was vital for his side as they turned around a poor run of form. Nuno Espirito Santo’s men have won their last three fixtures, with Jota finding the net on two occasions.

Liverpool are sure to be boosted by the news of the Wolves star’s absence as they bid to extend their lead at the top of the Premier League table.

The Reds are unbeaten in the top-flight and will hope to avoid any slip-ups when they come head to head with their counterparts on Friday evening.
