# Yasser Larouci headed for the Championship with Brentford leading the race

Liverpool left-back Yasser Larouci looks set to leave the club this summer with Brentford leading numerous Championship clubs in the race for his signature, according to [Goal](https://www.goal.com/en-om/news/aston-villa-among-several-premier-league-clubs-interested-in/hbfqnz77td6710pma4f7shqnu).

The play-off runners-up are now thought to be one of a number of clubs taking an interest in the talented Larouci, with initial talks having already taken place between the Bees and the player’s representatives.

The youngster turned down the offer of a new contract at Anfield earlier this year and as such, he plans to attempt to find a move to play first-team football elsewhere.

With the full-back now in the final year of his deal, it looks like it has been decided that it would be best for all parties if he found a new club in this summer window.

The Premier League champions recently signed Kostas Tsimikas from Olympiakos, effectively demoting Laroui to Jurgen Klopp’s third option at left-back at best so losing Larouci shouldn’t harm the Reds much, if at all.

It seems that the former Le Havre player who joined the Reds in 2017, is unwilling to wait for his opportunity for the first-team action and will now look to move on this summer so the Reds should look to cash in.

The youngster could depart Liverpool having made two senior appearances, both of which came in last season’s FA Cup campaign.
