I may have had about 12 heart attacks during that match, but it’s the end result that counts and the Reds march on with a 4-2 away win at Selhurst Park against Crystal Palace.
It was a game that showcased all of Liverpool’s strengths and Liverpool’s weaknesses. In attack, they were immense. Free-flowing attacking football, chance after chance whenever they went forward.
Had the Reds been more clinical, they could have buried the game early on.
Obviously it wasn’t that easy.
The goals conceded weren’t due to poor organisation but rather a culmination of individual mistakes. For all the talk about Liverpool’s set piece defending and Crystal Palace exploiting that weakness, Jürgen Klopp’s team were the ones who scored from two corners and who conceded from open play.
It wasn’t perfect, but nevertheless it’s another three points to keep pace with the league leaders and make the league title a real possibility.
