It’s finally over!
International football is officially gone and The Reds can get back in action with an away trip to Southampton at 3pm Saturday afternoon.
Liverpool, pre-international break, were absolutely flying, scoring goals left, right and centre and storming to the top of the table in style – if only by a point.
However, after a two-week break and a disjointed regular match preparation, it’s not crazy to think that Jurgen Klopp’s men could lack some rhythm going into the match; especially against a Southampton side that can give them a few problems and has in the past.
Both sides have good players at their disposal and some of the best in the league in their positions, however, it’s slightly ironic to create a combined XI considering Liverpool have been poaching Southampton players for the past few years, giving birth to those dreaded ‘Liverhampton’ jokes.
That being said, here is my combined XI of the best players from each team:
