Another home game, another home win for the goal-scoring Reds!
Liverpool went on to win 4-1 at Anfield against Stoke City to put pressure on the league leaders Chelsea.
The scoreline suggests a fairly standard win for Jurgen Klopp’s team but it was far from that, at least for the first 20 minutes.
Liverpool were slow out the blocks, as is becoming too regular in recent months, and Mark Hughes’s side took advantage to get the opening goal. Liverpool should have done better from a simple cross into the box, and if not for a good stop by Simon Mignolet at the 18th minute, the Reds could have been 2-0 down.
Liverpool’s quality eventually showed with two goals either side of the half to seal all three points and continue their title challenge.
