Liverpool have the chance to capitalise on any termoil or discontent when they visit the King Power Stadium on Monday.
As it was announced on Thursday evening that Leicester had relieved manager Claudio Ranieri of his duties just a year after sensationally winning the Premier League in what proved to be one of the cult stories in sport of all-time, disgust and outrage surrounded this dubious decision by the board of the Foxes.
Based on this, it seems perfectly sensible to back the Reds here. However, that’s not to say Liverpool shouldn’t be aware of a backlash. With Man United not in action this weekend though due to EFL Cup Final exploits and with Man City and Arsenal not playing either, it’s Liverpool;s chance to seize the initiative and put pressure on the teams around them.
But of course, with Liverpool, a perfect opportunity can easily escalate into more dropped points which will do their top four hopes no good
This game shouldn’t be underestimated, not only could a win loosen Arsenal’s potential stranglehold on the top four, but it can also put neutrals and the pace-setters in the league on red alert, that Liverpool are possibly on the road to finally eradicating issues against ‘lesser’ sides.
With all of that in mind, here’s the team I think Klopp will select ahead of Monday’s clash at the King Power Stadium.
