Liverpool’s young trio could leave on loan next season

Liverpool’s pursuit of a new winger means two of Ryan Kent, Sheyi Ojo and Harry Wilson will leave the club on loan this summer, according to the Liverpool Echo.

The Reds have been strongly linked with moves for Roma’s Mohamed Salah and Sporting Lisbon’s Gelson Martins as Jurgen Klopp looks to add depth to his squad.

That could force temporary moves for the Reds’ current crop of young wingers, who found first-team opportunities hard to come by last season.

Ojo made 11 appearances in a promising 2015/16 campaign but was restricted to just two FA Cup appearances last term.

Harry Wilson, meanwhile, featured only in the FA Cup tie against Plymouth but was the stand-out player in the U23 side, netting a mightily-impressive 28 goals.

It is understood that Liverpool previously rejected an approach from Scottish champions Celtic for the 20-year old but would be willing to listen to offers in this transfer window.

Ryan Kent spent last season on loan at Championship side Barnsley, making 45 appearances in all competitions and scoring three goals.

The player who remains at the club will likely form part of a strong U23 squad and feature in the cup competitions.

23-year old goalkeeper Danny Ward is also set to be loaned out, having expressed his desire to return to Huddersfield following a strong season for the Championship play-off winners.
