Championship outfit Leeds United have completed the signing of former Liverpool academy midfielder Madger Gomes, the Liverpool Echo reports.
The 20-year-old Spanish midfielder has put pen to paper on a three-year deal at Elland Road after being released by the Reds this summer.
Upon signing with the Championship club, Gomes said;
I’m really excited and happy to start life with Leeds United. Hopefully I will get a chance to progress and make the first team.
Gomes is set to initially link up with Leeds Under-23 squad with the potential to train with the first team during pre-season.
Leeds narrowly missed out on a Championship play-off spot last season and will be looking to ensure a top six position next season.
Gomes joined Liverpool’s academy back in 2014 from La Liga side Villareal, but he failed to live up to his potential after suffering from a number of injuries and inconsistent form.
