The sky is blue, water is wet, and Barcelona are still after Philippe Coutinho!
Despite failing not once, not twice, but three times, the Catalan giants are set to submit a fourth eye-watering bid of £138 million.
This news may come as a surprise as Barcelona reportedly ‘admitted defeat’ in their quest to sign the Brazilian magician less than 48 hours ago.
One of Sky Sports’ sources in Spain broke the news reporting:
Philippe has never been more determined to leave Liverpool. To suggest Barca are thinking of backing out and calling it a day, is absolute nonsense. They’re all in now; their cards are on the table and they’ll never give up the fight.
Liverpool fans will in no doubt be furious of such news as Coutinho was reportedly ready to have ‘clear-the-air talks’ with the Liverpool hierarchy in an attempt smooth relations with the Merseysiders.
Liverpool have stuck to their guns all summer, refusing bid after bid in a resolute attempt to keep their star player with FSG even coming out with an official statement saying:
No offers for Philippe will be considered and he will remain a member of Liverpool Football Club when the summer window closes.
So don’t be surprised if the Reds continue to stand firm on their stance and immediately shoot down Barcelona’s revised bid.
Equally, don’t expect the Blaugrana to end their pursuit of the little Brazilian beyond this bid as their desperation to replace Neymar continues to grow as the prospect of Ousmane Dembele –their other favored replacement–donning the red and blue of Barcelona is looking more and more bleak.
