Liverpool’s defence has been heavily scrutinised this season for not being up to scratch this season but Jurgen Klopp has been reported to be looking into additions once the January transfer window opens.
One player the Reds are said to be interested in signing is Lazio centre-back Stefan de Vrij whose situation at the Serie A club is up in the air to say the least.
De Vrij’s contract expires at the end of the season and he’s so far rejected every attempt from Lazio to tie him down to a new deal, but things may have now changed as he’s set for showdown talks over a new contract and his future.

The 25-year-old is set for decisive talks in the next 48 hours with Liverpool and Juventus keeping tabs on the situation ahead of a potential January swoop.
Liverpool can approach to sign him on a pre-contract from January onwards if his situation remains the same.
