Following his £20m move to Liverpool in 2014, Lazar Markovic has failed to live up to expectations.
After scoring just three goals in 34 appearances during the 2014/15 season, Markovic was shipped out on loan to Fenerbahce where he again was underwhelming.
Jurgen Klopp didn’t see a role for the Serbian in his squad last season and sent him the former Benfica star back to Liga NOS on a loan deal with Sporting, a deal that was cut short in January in order to funnel him out to Hull.
Under Marco Silva at Hull, Markovic flashed his enormous potential but the 23-year-old remains in the wilderness at Anfield, having failed to make the Liverpool matchday squad in the Premier League or Champions League so far this season.
Markovic is almost certainly set to leave in January and his agent is already trying to work a deal, with Fanatik claiming that he is in talks with Fenerbahce regarding a second loan move until the end of the season.
Unlikely to break into the Liverpool side in the next few weeks, it seems only a matter of time until Markovic leaves the Reds for good.
