There could be a big shakeup to Liverpool’s attacking ranks during the January transfer window both in terms of incomings and outgoings and the Reds are being linked with a move for a talented young attacker.
Daniel Sturridge could leave the club this month to pursue first-team football in a World Cup year with a number of Premier League clubs keen, while Danny Ings could be set for a similar move with rumours of interest from Newcastle, Stoke and West Ham.
According to Salzburger Nachrichten, Jurgen Klopp and Liverpool are said to be interested in signing Lyon’s 16-year-old forward Willem Geubbels after he broke into the first-team this season.
Geubbels had received an offer from Red Bull Salzburg this month but his agent has dismissed their approach on account of the fact that some Champions League clubs are looking to sign the France U17 international.
With four appearances across all competitions so far, Geubbels is regarded as one of the best young attackers in Europe right now and is also said to be on the radar of Liverpool’s Premier League rivals Chelsea and Tottenham as well as Bayern Munich who want to provide competition for Robert Lewandowski.
