Daniel Sturridge looks certain to leave Anfield this month after falling further down Jurgen Klopp’s pecking order but there is considerable interest from the Premier League in his services.
According to a report in the Northern Echo, Rafa Benitez has made an enquiry to bring the England international striker to Newcastle during the January transfer window.
Sturridge has made just five starts in the Premier League so far this season and has not featured in the league since November, with Klopp not selecting the striker in the matchday squad in each of the last seven games.

Klopp seemingly prefers Roberto Firmino, Dominic Solanke and even Danny Ings to the 28-year-old and Sturridge himself is eager to leave so he can play regular football in a World Cup year.
Newcastle are desperate to add a new striker to their ranks and will likely make a formal offer to sign Sturridge, but both West Ham and Stoke have also been linked with the former Chelsea and Manchester City striker.
