Hoffenheim are reportedly looking to bring in Lazar Markovic from Liverpool this January transfer window, according to SWR Sport.
Hoffenheim are low on attacking players after this transfer window, selling Sandro Wagner to Bundesliga giants and rivals Bayern Munich, and their young star Philipp Ochs to Bochum on loan for the rest of the season.
This has resulted in them looking at Markovic as a replacement.
Markovic has not made a single appearance for the Reds this season, only featuring on the bench once as an unused substitute in the 2-0 loss away to Leicester City in the Carabao Cup. He also has made one appearance for Liverpool’s U23’s this season.

Since arriving to Merseyside, he made 19 league appearances for Liverpool in his debut season of 2014/15 but has since fell out of favour with both Brendan Rodgers and Jurgen Klopp, and has been loaned out to Fenerbahce, where he never scored, Sporting Lisbon, making just six appearances all season, and then Hull City, where he was relegated.
Markovic is also finding it next-to-impossible to fight for a place in the starting XI against the likes of Sadio Mané, Mohamed Salah and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.
So after a few seasons on Merseyside, Markovic may be on his way out with Hoffenheim looking to loan him with an option to buy this summer. An Anfield career that didn’t really go to plan.
