Luton Town complete signing of Lloyd Jones

Luton Town have completed the signing of Liverpool youngster Lloyd Jones for an undisclosed fee.

The central defender has signed a two and half year deal at the League Two club following his departure from Anfield.

He will be able to go straight into the squad for the side to face Exeter City in an important contest in the race for promotion.

Chances proved to be tough to find at Liverpool with Jones being limited to just youth team games, so the move to Luton made sense for all parties.

He has spent a number of years at various football league clubs including Cheltenham Town and Swindon Town so has plenty of experience in the EFL leagues.

The central defender adds some important cover for Luton as they look to get out of the league and back into League One.

After signing for Luton the player spoke about the move.

I want to play regular first-team football. I’ve been in the Under-23s at Liverpool for quite a while now and I wanted a new challenge, and I thought Luton was the right club for me. I spoke to the manager yesterday and he explained how the club wants to move forward and has ambitions, and that was a big factor in me coming here.
