Liverpool are expected to see Emre Can leave the club when his contract expires at the end of the season, with Juventus the likely destination, leaving a hole in their squad for a more combative midfielder.
The Daily Mail note that Liverpool are one of three Premier League clubs interested in signing Watford standout Abdoulaye Doucoure in the summer following the Frenchman’s fine season at Vicarage Road.
Despite being primarily an all-action holding midfielder, Doucoure has displayed a goalscoring touch this season netting seven times in the Premier League while also providing three assists as Watford look to consolidate their place in the top flight again.

The former Rennes player joined Watford in 2016 for just £8m and is now valued at over £20m by the Hornets who are hoping to persuade him to stay with a new contract worth £60,000-a-week.
Tottenham and Arsenal are the other two top Premier League sides looking to pip Liverpool to Doucoure’s signature when the summer transfer window opens in June.
