Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah says he is ready to battle Harry Kane for the Premier League’s Golden Boot this season.
Kane has won the award for two consecutive years and as it stands, he has one more league goal than the Egyptian.
Speaking to Goal about his targets for the remainder of this season, Salah was quick to compliment the Tottenham forward but said that he’s definitely gunning to prevent him from being the league’s top scorer for a third consecutive year.
He said:
[Kane] is a great player, in the last two years he has already been the top scorer. Kane plays as a No.9 and has more chances to score goals than me. In my mind, I want to win it, but we will see what happens.

Away from personal goals, Salah also spoke about what he is hoping to achieve on a team-basis. He said getting Liverpool as high up the table as possible and helping Egypt qualify for the knockout stages of the World Cup are the two most immediate goals he has.
Now, I want to be in a good position in the Premier League and help my international team to pass the first phase in the World Cup in Russia. Those are my goals for now, then we’ll see.
