Liverpool to battle Bayern and Juventus for Jonas Hector

Liverpool were recently reported to have revived their interest in signing Jonas Hector from Cologne this summer but they face a three-way battle for his signature if reports are to be believed.

Reports in Italy claim that both Juventus and Bayern Munich will compete with Liverpool for the signing of Hector when the summer transfer window opens.

With seven games left in the Bundesliga season, Cologne sit in 17th place, five points adrift of safety and if they are relegated to the second tier of German football, Hector has a clause in his contract which would allow him to leave for just €8m.

Jurgen Klopp is a long-term admirer of the 27-year-old left-back who can also operate in central midfield and is ready to make a move to sign the player this summer with Emre Can set to leave the club.

Hector could provide competition to Andy Robertson at left-back should he arrive, or slot into central midfield as a like-for-like replacement for Can, who himself is being linked with both Bayern and Juventus.
