Liverpool have been mentioned alongside Arsenal and Tottenham as a potential suitor for Abdoulaye Doucoure in the summer and it’s been reported that Watford may be forced to cash-in on the midfielder.
The Mirror claim that Watford are heavily reliant on unearthing talent and selling them on for huge profits in order to keep afloat, and Doucoure, a £9.5m signing from Rennes in February 2016 could be the latest big-money sale that will help balance the books.
Uncapped by France, Doucoure has had a breakthrough season with Watford this season, scoring seven goals in 30 appearances but his robust, physical style in the middle of the park is what teams are most enamoured by.

At 25, his best years are still ahead of him and a number of the top Premier League clubs are weighing up a summer swoop for him
Valued at £40m, Doucoure is seen by Liverpool as a potential replacement for Emre Can as Jurgen Klopp makes checks on a number of midfield targets between now and the end of the season.
