Liverpool be looking to gain a first leg advantage when champions-in-waiting Manchester City visit Anfield on Wednesday in the Champions League quarter-final.
With Mohamed Salah’s late goal bailing the Reds out against strugglers Crystal Palace on Saturday, all eyes turn to their European exploits with Jurgen Klopp’s side looking to book a place in the semi-finals of Europe’s elite competition.
However, it won’t be routine. They have been drawn against Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City, who have the chance to seal the Premier League title next week if they win against their bitter local rivals Manchester United at the Eithad Stadium.
Many have touted the Citizens to be the favourites, but it will be the football over the two legs that will do the talking. Liverpool supporters will be hoping for another famous European night under the lights at Anfield on Wednesday, of course.
Klopp’s team selection choice for the game has been made somewhat easier with injuries to the likes of Emre Can and Joel Matip, meaning that the squad does, essentially, pick itself against the men from Manchester.
So, how will Liverpool line up against City on Wednesday? Here’s our prediction…
