Liverpool face more UEFA charges

Liverpool face more UEFA charges from last night’s Champions League quarter-final second leg against Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium.

Liverpool have been charged after their away fans set off fireworks and threw objects during the game which saw the side progress to the Champions League semi-final stages.

The case is set to be dealt with by the UEFA control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body on 31st May.

The club were subject to four charges from the first leg last week at Anfield; for setting off fireworks, the throwing of objects, crowd disturbances and acts of damage.Liverpool fans threw bottles, bricks and flares at the Manchester City team bus last week upon it’s arrival at the stadium, with a replacement bus needed to pick up the City players after the game due to the extent of the damage caused.

Last week’s UEFA charges will also be dealt with on 31st May.
