Whilst it has been reported that Napoli star Jorginho is close to completing a move to Manchester City, his agent has revealed that Liverpool have not given up hope of signing the midfielder this summer.
Despite the Reds still having one more game left to play this season, the transfer window is already open and plenty of work is going on behind the scenes.
Man City are confident about getting a deal for Jorginho over the line, but they are facing competition from three other Premier League sides, one of whom is Liverpool.
Speaking on Radio CRC earlier today, Joao Santos, the Italian’s agent, denied reports that other Serie A clubs had been in contact with him, but revealed that he’s spoken to four English sides. He said:
I am in Brazil. No one has called me from Italy. But I’ve been called by Liverpool, Manchester City, also Arsenal and Chelsea.
City still seem like the favourites to get a deal completed but Liverpool seemingly haven’t given up hope of getting one of their top transfer targets.
