Klopp makes €60 million rated Insigne top target
After a deal for Lyon midfielder Nabil Fekir collapsed, Jurgen Klopp is reportedly interested in signing Napoli midfielder Lorenzo Insigne, according to Transfermarketweb via TeamTalk.
The German boss is looking for other options after the deal for Fekir collapsed with concerns over the players injury history.
Despite having a very dangerous attacking trio in Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino, Klopp is looking to still strengthen Liverpool going forward.
Insigne, who has spent his entire career in Naples, is the latest player to be linked with a move to Liverpool.
Klopp is reportedly keen on the player’s versatility. However, a move is seemingly unlikely due to Napoli not wanting to sell one of their key stars.
Insigne did reject Liverpool last season when in talks with Napoli over a new deal.
Speaking after signing his new deal, Insigne said:
“After this moment I’m more than happy. This is what I’ve dreamed about as a child; to be here for as long as possible.
“I grew up here and am proud to renew for another 5 years with this club.
“It’s always been a dream to play for this shirt. Now that I have it on I hope to never take it off and to win some important trophies.
“Both the club and fans deserve it.”
