Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has sent his goalkeeping coach to scout Shamrock Rovers’ highly-rated teenage goalkeeper Gavin Bazunu, according to a report on the Independent.
John Achterberg was present to witness the 16-year-old keep his third successive clean sheet during his side’s 2-0 victory over Derry City.
The teenager has previously had a trial at Scottish champions Celtic, leaving Brendan Rodgers extremely impressed with his abilities.
Klopp is looking to solve his goalkeeping problems which saw him continue switching between Simon Mignolet and Loris Karius during the first half of last season, before deciding Karius was the number one.

However, after making two dreadful errors in the UEFA Champions League final, Liverpool are on the hunt for a keeper, with big names like Jan Oblak and Allison Becker being linked with a move to Anfield.
The youngster has also spent time with Premier League sides Arsenal and Brighton but it is Celtic who are sponsoring Bazunu’s school fees at Ashfield College, meaning Liverpool will have to make a very enticing offer to lure him to Merseyside.
