Liverpool have officially confirmed the signing of winger Xherdan Shaqiri from Stoke, paying £13.5million to buy out his release clause.
Shaqiri has joined the Reds after Stoke City were relegated to the Championship after a poor season under Mark Hughes and Paul Lambert.

The Swiss international, who was part of Switzerland’s World Cup squad, brings with him a wealth of experience at club and international level.
Shaqiri was a key signing for Stoke in 2015, joining from Inter Milan after a failed spell in Italy. Before switching to Inter Shaqiri was part of the Bayern Munich side that completed a domestic and continental treble, winning the Bundesliga, DFB Pokal and Champions League.

The 26 year old made over 84 league appearances for Stoke, netting eight times. The Swiss winger has a reputation for scoring spectacular goals, including scoring a wonder goal at Euro 2016 for Switzerland.
Shaqiri adds some depth out wide for Liverpool, as well as adding more international experience to the side.
