The Estonian international passed a medical with the Italian club on Friday afternoon ahead of a switch believed to be worth a fee priced at just £2m.
Klavan arrived at Liverpool in 2016 after performing impressively in the Bundesliga with Augsburg. Jurgen Klopp had been a long-term admirer of the player and recruited the experienced defender to provide cover at the back.

The 32-year-old never truly forced his way into Liverpool’s starting line-up on a regular basis but provided a sturdy deputy when called upon.
Nevertheless, Klavan will now be looking to secure first-team football in Serie A, with a move to Cagliari being confirmed.
Liverpool are well-stocked with options in central defence and with Nathaniel Phillips emerging through from the academy, appear to have a bulk of strong defensive alternatives should the likes of Virgil van Dijk sustain injuries.
