PAOK’s Champions League result could see Reds move into Pot 2

Next week’s Champions League meeting between PAOK and Benfica could have huge implications for Liverpool ahead of the Champions League draw.

As reported by the Liverpool Echo, should PAOK go on to win the tie against the Portuguese side, the Reds will be moved up to Pot 2.

As things stand, Liverpool will enter the draw in Pot 3 and could be given a much tougher draw on paper.

The tie is finely balanced after a 1-1 draw in Portugal on Tuesday night.

PAOK did manage to get an away goal on Tuesday as they prepare for next week’s meeting.

The two sides meet in Greece on Wednesday night and Liverpool fans will surely be a keeping a close eye on the result.

Making it into Pot 2 would come as a huge boost for the Reds. Should they manage to, they would join the following teams: Borussia Dortmund, FC Porto, Manchester United, Shakhtar Donetsk, Napoli, Tottenham Hotspur and Roma.
