Rafa Benitez shares what he really thinks about Andoni Iraola at Liverpool

It’s safe to say Andoni Iraola has imprinted his philosophy at Liverpool since replacing Arne Slot at the helm.

The Reds are fifth in the Premier League and are unbeaten in the UEFA Champions League, while they are also in the quarterfinals of the Carabao Cup.

It’s not to say Iraola’s side have been flawless, but the Reds have shown clear signs of improvement, which is proof that they are buying into the new manager’s ideas.

And as someone who has been there and done it at Anfield, Rafa Benitez feels the Spaniard has all the tools to succeed at the club.

“I can see someone who has a clear idea and vision,” said Benitez via talkSPORT.

“He wants to do things well, and knows what he has to do. Sometimes you need time to fix things or to do things in the way that you want to do it.”

“I can see great potential because he’s working hard and trying to understand everything. Trying to be close to the players and fans, so I think he will do well, but he will need some time for sure.”

Liverpool’s two losses across all competitions this season have come against Manchester City and Arsenal, which is hardly unacceptable.

They will take a bit more time to gel together as a team, but for now, they are playing attractive football and winning games, which is a step in the right direction.
