Barcelona have opened talks with Flamengo over a potential deal to sign reported Liverpool target Lucas Paqueta.
The Brazilian star is apparently on Liverpool’s radar and with the move for Nabil Fekir seemingly dead in the water, Paqueta is apparently one of the men on Liverpool’s shortlist of attacking players to target.
However, if the Reds are to sign the 21-year-old, it looks like they’ll have to fend off interest from La Liga champions Barcelona, who have entered talks with Flamengo.

According to a report from Spanish outlet Sport, Barcelona are now the favourites to sign the Brazilian international.
The release clause in Paqueta’s contract is said to be around £40.5m and it appears that Barca are willing to spend that amount to take the youngster to the Nou Camp.
Whether Liverpool make a serious move for Paqueta remains to be seen but if they do, they’ll need to beat Barca to his signature.
