Liverpool’s Champions League clash with Napoli on Wednesday, October 3rd, could take place in Bari, 160 miles west of Naples, as per a report from James Pearce of the Liverpool Echo.
Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis has requested permission from UEFA to play their European games in Bari after a dispute with the local council over the use of the San Paolo stadium.

The 60,000 seater stadium, owned by the local council, does not meet all of UEFA’s requirements but the club have been given exemptions so they could play their European home games in Naples over last few years.
However, plans to rearrange the seating arrangements at the stadium over the summer were not carried out and as such, UEFA could refuse the request for another exemption.
Should Napoli not be granted permission to play at home, De Laurentiis has requested the use of Bari’s San Nicola stadium, which holds 58,000 fans.
